Who thought you could spend a whole day at one food market? Well that’s exactly what we recommend you do when you visit Borough Market during your stay at the Harrington. The best day to visit is a Saturday and we advise that you begin hungry so you can indulge in breakfast, lunch and dinner at London’s oldest food market.
The beauty of Borough Market is that you can eat your way around the food stalls. Most of the stallholders are in fact the producers of the food so you can really understand where the food has come from. Whether you’re a meat eater, vegetarian, vegan or anything in between, the market caters for everyone.
A few of our favourite culinary delights..
Monmouth Coffee Company
Why not start your day with a gourmet coffee which has been ethically sourced? The Monmouth Coffee Company has been brewing global beans at Borough market since the late 1990s. Expect a small queue when you arrive as this coffee is worth queueing for. The real deal!
If you’re not feeling hungry as you saunter through Borough market, you will instantly feel hungry when you set eyes on Bomba Paella with its huge open bubbling mesmerising vats of paella. The aroma alone will awaken your senses as you gravitate towards the best paella in London town.
After a few hours walking around Borough market, you’ll be sure to work up a thirst. We would highly recommend you take a break in the Wheatsheaf where shenanigans are the dish of the day! They even make their own homemade crisps here. What more could you want!
If you’re looking for a real treat for dinner then it’s got to be Roast restaurant that overlooks Borough Market. The finest of British food, much of which is sourced from the market traders. A perfect dining spot to conclude your day in Borough market.
